Philips Ultrasound Shanghai, a member of Philips Healthcare
Ultrasound, is a leader in design, development, and manufacture of
medical ultrasound transducers for a variety of applications for
more than 15 years. The company offers a rich family of high
quality and high performing transducers to medical ultrasound
customers.This position is in the company's R&D Dept, reporting
to its functional manager, as a senior process engineer. This
position will contribute to the design and development of advanced
fabrication processes of the company's core products working
closely with other team members.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- As a Senior Process Engineer within Philips Ultrasound
Shanghai, this position will partner with other R&D engineers
on process design and development of Philips Ultrasound Shanghai
transducers. This engineering role will focus on developing new
and/or state-of-the-art techniques and step-by-step processes
needed for realization of transducer designs to ensure the
transducers can be produced with high quality manufacturability and
first-class craftsmanship. This engineer will also work closely
with manufacturing to ensure the designed/developed transducers can
be smoothly produced in quantity and with high quality.
- This engineer will participate in all phases of Philips
Ultrasound Shanghai transducers development process from
specification, design, implementation, and testing (verification
and validation). Work closely with other engineering team members
to plan, design, review, implementation, testing, and deliver
results on time to meet customer requirements. Specifically, the
job responsibilities include:
- Work as a key technical contributor in design and development
of Philips Ultrasound Shanghai transducers, translating commercial,
functional, and technical design specifications into technical
concepts that can be practically realized.
- Develop new or state-of-the-art techniques/technologies to
build Philips Ultrasound Shanghai transducers in the manufacturing
line.
- Work with senior engineering staff for sound judgment and
decision-making.
- Proactively seek out, learn, apply, and share new technical
skills on an ongoing basis.
- Good understanding of and can lead the team to follow
product/transducer creation processes, development phases,
deliverables, and phase review processes.
- Responsible for the assigned tasks' quality of work,
reliability, schedule, cost, and completion of tasks on one or more
modules.
- Deliver quality results in assignments that include the
following:
- Develop step-by-step processes/procedures using new and
state-of-the-art technologies whenever needed for realizing Philips
Ultrasound Shanghai designed transducers that can be practically
and quantitatively built in the manufacturing line with high
volume, high yield, and high quality.
- Play a key role in transition from R&D design and
development to Manufacturing by working closely with Production
Engineering team and manufacturing team to resolve any issues
during the transition and in post-release support.
- Ensure the materials used in developing and manufacturing
Philips SHA transducers are adequate and well selected to meet
project metrics.
- Participate in manufacturing staff training to prepare staff
for mass production of NPI projects.
- Support sustaining and post-release teams in analyzing root
causes of field issues and provide input to possible
solutions.
- Support releasing needed documentation for Philips' transducers
release (Feasibility, NPI, and productivity) to manufacturing
line.
- Communicate with Philips Ultrasound engineering/project team
members in Andover, Bothell, and Reedsville to resolve technical
and test equipment support.
- Participate in NPI or sustaining release processes that comply
with Philips Ultrasound Shanghai QMS from Process Engineering
perspective.
- Ability to work effectively on transducer process development
in complex projects with R&D and other cross-functions, operate
independently, acquire good technical skills for issue resolution
and troubleshooting, and deliver solid results on time as
specified.
- Demonstrated history of solid occupational ethics.
- Requires an equivalent of a Master's degree or higher in
Materials Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, or in an equivalent field, or with demonstrated strong
experience in the relevant industry in the field of transducers
development.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in the field of transducers
process development, with thorough understanding of modern
engineering tools, methods, processes, and practices; solid
experience with test equipment, strong manufacturing process
knowledge, and experience in realizing transducer designs.
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art development techniques, good
knowledge of realizing a design of transducers and/or similar
products with logical and easy-to-follow practical steps, and good
experience with tolerance analysis and quality sense.
- Ability to work effectively in complex projects following
product release processes; strong ability to operate independently;
good technical skill for issue resolution and troubleshooting.
- Act as a mentor to EIs, EIIs in the engineering team, and steer
skills to focus on technical and project problem-solving
skills.
- Able to effectively work within a project team and utilize
resources to produce optimal results.
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to
effectively communicate and/or present complex technical issues to
engineers and managers.
- Good knowledge and understanding of technical requirements
associated with the area of work and how it relates to the final
product (e.g., acoustics/materials engineering, transducers
