Coding Specialist

Job Description:

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist to assist in the accurate coding of patient medical records.

Key Responsibilities

Account for coding and abstracting of patient encounters according to ICD-10-CM guidelines
Analyze and audit medical records to identify documentation deficiencies and opportunities for improvement
Communicate and educate providers on coding practices under the supervision of the Coding Manager

Required Qualifications

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification Required
Experience in Pediatrics Required
3 to 5 years' experience with physician office billing and coding
Understanding of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10
Previous experience with Medicaid and commercial payers
