Range $130,000 - 180,000 per year Onsite Status: This role is fully

98134, United States Essential Job Responsibilities: The
Director-Power Equipment provides direction and operational
oversight of Top Picks, Side Picks, Empty Handlers, Reach Stackers,
UTRs, Busses, Shuttles, Vans, Pick Ups and Light Vehicles across
the global Carrix organization.
This leader will report directly to our Vice President, Chief
Engineer and must be a team player willing to partner with
corporate colleagues and union members to improve safety, optimize
company financial performance, while advancing the company's
environmental, social, and environmental goals.
- Directs the fleet planning, analysis, and maintenance policies
across the organization (except cranes and vertical lift equipment)
including Hostlers/UTRs, reach stackers, top picks, forklifts,
vehicles, etc.
- Responsible for developing maintenance and repair/replacement
strategies and monitoring safety compliance.
- Forecasts future equipment needs and develops budget and
equipment acquisition plans.
- Ensures the efficient utilization of equipment across
locations.
- Monitors and evaluates maintenance operations across all
terminal locations to assess the operational efficiency and costs
associated across locations.
- Standardizes processes and procedures to ensure optimal
utilization of equipment, identifies equipment needs by locale,
resolves issues or disputes associated with equipment-related
matters across operating departments and other
stakeholders.
- Develops departmental plans that align future power equipment
needs with the organization's strategic directives, anticipated
company growth, and the lifecycle of existing equipment.
- Forecasts future equipment needs and develops budget and
equipment acquisition plans.
- Works with the Manager of Records and Standards to document all
associated specifications, licenses, warranties, and service
agreements for power-related equipment and support
equipment.
- Collaborates with the Procurement department to minimize the
life cycle cost of equipment and make maximal use of warranty
benefits. standardizes the types of equipment used across the
organization, looks for common vendors/service providers, maximizes
deployment of equipment across locations, efficiently manages the
supply of replacement parts, etc.
- Proactively builds relationships with key vendors and equipment
suppliers to ensure availability of equipment, best pricing of
equipment, favorable service agreement terms and knowledge of new
types of equipment.

Qualifications:
- College degree preferred.
- Proven success and deep experience in managing commercial and
heavy vehicle maintenance shops.
- Strong operational-level and tactical-level skills to allow for
the analysis of operations, streamlining procedures, ensuring
adherence to standards, etc., while also demonstrating a strategic
perspective by anticipating future issues and trends.
- Maritime experience a major plus; transportation-related
experience a plus.
- Military experience a plus.
- Bi-lingual English and Spanish capabilities a plus.
- Have a high level of energy, a positive attitude, and a servant
style of leadership.
- Must demonstrate a deep technical knowledge of mechanical,
electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Must be knowledgeable about current industry trends, and best
industry practices
- Must be conversant and excited about working with new
technologies, especially alternative fuel vehicles
- Requires critical thinking skills, communication skills (verbal
and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed sense of business acumen and a track record of
sound business judgment.
